Pro2: Project proposal on environment and sustainable management of natural resources gets to the next stage of evaluation by Eurocommission

Pro2, a project idea on environment and sustainable management of natural resources proposed by the Administration of the Germersheim district (Germany) in partnership with administrations of natural parks and executive committees of Belarus, Poland and Ukraine was positively assessed by the Eurocommission and was admitted to the next stage of the evaluation process.

The project's overall objective is to contribute to conservation of biodiversity in Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, Germany and France through integrating ecosystem-based biodiversity protection requirements into operating systems of protected areas. Intended project partners on the Belarusian side include Administration of the State National Park "Belovezhskaja Puscha", Kamenets District Executive Committee, Swisloch District Executive Committee, Foundation "Euroregion Belovezhskaja Pushcha", State Institution "Pribuzhskoye Polesie Landscape Zakaznik", Brest District Executive Committee. Institution for promotion of international dialogue and cooperation "Interaction", members of which constitute IURI Belarus, will also act as the project partner.

IURI Belarus has already provided extensive support to the Pro2 applicant on the first stages of project development, including consultations on how to write a Concept Note according to the Eurocommission requirements, plan project activities, and estimate cost implications. As the deadine for submission of Full Application Forms approaches, Administration of the Germersheim district is planning to further consult experts of the IURI Belarus on various issues related to project development.
