Program Description

“Support Programme Belarus” (SPB) of the German Federal Goverment supports German-Belarusian joint projects. Main aims of the SPB are:

  • to foster cooperation between German and Belarusian partner initiatives in the sphere of sustainable development;
  • to strengthen capacities for local problem solving through enhancing cooperation of local authorities, NGOs and other important structures for the purposes of sustainable development
  • promotion of "Europe without borders"
Main priorities and objectives

The programme supports projects in the following spheres:

  • education (civil society education and projects supporting lifelong learning);
  • social sphere (improvement of social integration and capacity building of social workers)
  • environment and energy (sustainable management of environmental and energy resources)
  • economic development and regional policy (regional development and Agenda 21)

The project consortium should consist of at least two partners, one from Belarus and one from Germany. Project application may be submitted either by a German or a Belarusian partner. Applicants and partners must be non-state non profit making organisations.

Grant size:

  1. Small grants - up to 15 thousand euro
  2. Large grants - 15 - 60 thousand euro 

Partners must provide 20% of their own cofinancing. Deadline for submission of the project proposals - 15 September 2009. Proposals should be sent to the Dortmund International Educational Centre (IBB Dortmund gGmbH) at the following address:
